We dug out the little potty chair about a week ago for Andrew. He loves to be in the bathroom with everyone else so we thought we'd pull out the potty chair and let him have some fun. He's been sitting on it each night and randomly during the day. He thinks it is a blast! Last night, Elliott was on potty duty prior to bed and all the sudden I hear cheers and applause erupt from the bathroom. I head back to see what is going on and Andrew has peed in the potty! Now, I'm not ready to potty train this child but hopefully this is a good sign. We'll continue on like before and see what happens. Lauren got the hang of it quite quickly so maybe he will too. ;)
Lauren thought we should take pictures of Andrew with his pee in the potty but I passed on that request. I didn't think anyone would be wanting to see those pictures in 15 years but I could be wrong.

Random Shots
So I'm reporting a big lose for the CATS. When are they going to learn that you can't let up with a 16 point lead. Yes, that is right we were ahead by 16 and then blew it!
Here are a few pictures of the past week. Lauren likes to play dress up and this is just one of the many dresses she has.
We are very lucky to get some great hand-me-down clothes from friends here in town and their daughter LOVES to play dress up so Lauren is well stocked! And here is Andrew's version of dress up - playing in dad's shoes.
Both kids are coloring this morning as I make cookies for Elliott's office. Lauren enjoys helping in the kitchen but I didn't think Elliott's co-workers would enjoy eggshells in their cookies like we do! :) Today is the beginning of Engineer's Week so it's treats for everyone. I really think that I'm the only one celebrating. Elliott has to play along since he lives with me and his co-workers well they don't say anything because every now and then, they get good treats from me. Like t

Rodeo
The PBR Bull Riders were in town this past weekend for an event. My parents came down on Saturday afternoon and took us out to eat and then to the rodeo. The rodeo did not start until 8:00 and the kids go to bed around 8:30 so I had no clue what shape we would all be in by the end. The kids did great, though. Lauren asked once around 10:00 if it was over yet but other than that she watched the whole thing. Andrew was a little more antsy but he managed to watch the whole thing while snacking on some Cheerios. You can see that Lauren got a BIG treat. She loves popcorn and you should have seen her eyes when Elliott brought that tub up for her. She was in heaven!

Take Down
I posted a few days ago about how loving Andrew was, well it was short lived. I'm sure this picture holds more truth about what is to come in the next few years. Actually, it looks worse than it was. They were playing in the hallway and pretty soon I hear Lauren say, "get on my back, baby". She likes to try and give him pony rides. Well, that moved into this. There is only 8 pounds difference in them so she was really stuck!
Lauren is now at preschool and Andrew is happy as a lark. He has the run of the house and his pick of toys. I'm not sure who enjoys preschool more, Lauren or Andrew! Lauren has a Valentine's day party at preschool next week so my task for the weekend is to work on exchange cards. I also signed up to bring treats for the class. Lauren LOVES to take treats to school. She is so proud and excited to share with her classmates and I like to bake so it works out good for both of us. Now, I just need to decide what to make.

Sickness strikes!
We've had a fun few days! Lauren woke up around 11:00 on Thursday night complaining her nose was stuffy. She was coughing and feverish and just plain miserable. She wanted someone to lay with her so Elliott did. He came back to bed around 2:00 and Lauren awoke at 3:00 calling for me. I went to lay with her and did until about 5:00 then Elliott went in around 5:30 as she was back up. Fun night!
Friday she didn't eat much and ran a fever of 102 to 103. She finally decided she was hungry at supper time and requested a PB & J sandwich. She ate it and some goldfish. I was happy that she'd finally ate and the fever was coming down a little. She was good for a couple of hours and then the dreaded happened . . . she began throwing up. I don't do well with puke so it was all Daddy time!! She covered herself and the couch. Yuk! After she was cleaned up it was pretty much bed time so we read stories and headed off to bed. She was ready! She managed to sleep until 5:00 AM when I heard her calling, "More water in my purple cup, please!". I filled her cup and laid back down with her for a few minutes. It didn't take long for her to sack out again. She slept until 10:00 AM. I don't think she has ever slept that late!
I had hopes Saturday would be better. She got up with a slight fever but wanted to eat some toast so I thought that was a good sign. She ate her toast and came to watch a little TV on the couch with Elliott. Pretty soon, she wanted to sit on my lap in the recliner and I should have known something was up 'cause it wasn't long before the toast was all over me, her and the floor. Double yuk! The rest of the day was pretty good for her. She ate a few crackers and pretzels and decided a hamburger sounded good for supper. Her fever also broke so she was in better spirits. So, since one kid was on the mend it was time for the other to go downhill. Andrew awoke from nap with a fever but didn't seem to be bothered by it much. However, when supper time rolled around it spiked up and he was miserable. I got him doctored up but he refused to eat supper. The first time in his life he has refused food. The kid likes to eat! So, we played for a while and then got ready for bed. I was prepared for an awful night with him but he slept until about 7:00 this morning. Lauren did too! Now they are both playing in the basement with Elliott so I think we've turned the corner. Yea!!
