SNOW

Ugh!! Snow!!

I wake up this morning to Lauren yelling, "Mommy, I need to show you something." Scary, right . . . well all she wanted to show me was the the snow. We had a light covering when she went to bed and now there is tons of it. She is thrilled. I'm sure you'll be seeing some snow covered kids on here soon!

Dead Bunny

Last week we were out on a walk and came across a bunny rabbit who met a tragic ending. Lauren asked about the bunny in the street and Elliott told her that he got hit by a car. Her response was, "Oh, he didn't look both ways." So we managed to turn a sad dead bunny into a teaching moment! :)

Then last night we were out walking again and came up to the bunny's resting place only to find him gone. Lauren wanted to know where he was and we explained that he had been moved to a better place. Just as we are getting ready to go on, another bunny runs across the road. Lauren says, "There goes the bunny. I guess he feels much better today."

Elliott and Lauren are out for a walk as I type this and I can't wait for them to get back to see what bunny adventures they had today.

The race is on!

Lauren on her tricycle. She is almost too big for it anymore and Andrew is just about ready for it so I'm sure we'll be bike shopping in a few more weeks.

On your marks, get set, GO!

Outside Time

Today is such a nice day out and we have been taking advantage of it. Here are a few random pictures to prove it.

I was getting my change.

Toe nails

Lauren and I enjoy painting our toe nails. Today she picked her favorite purple and chose a bronze color for me. This is one of 'our' activities. We make sure to do it while Andrew is napping.
This morning I was called for jury duty so Elliott stayed home with the kids. As usual, I didn't get selected from the pool of possible jurors. I've been through this a few times and I never get selected. Elliott has been called several times as well but he has yet to make it to the trial date without the trial being cancelled. I was home by 10:30 and Elliott was off to work then. His boss told him that he was welcome to bring the kids in today. While he does have an office with a door . . . can you imagine getting anything done with an 18 month old. Whew . . .

The Mall

Last weekend we ventured out to the mall. Elliott was wanting to look at a new tool at Sears and Lauren was longing for the rides, the water fountain and the aquarium. The first time we put her on these little rides, she freaked out but has since grown to love them. She also loves to make wishes and throw coins into the big water fountain. Andrew likes the aquarium and the rides. I think that some of the fish in the aquarium are as big as him.
We made no purchases during our outing but we all still had fun!

Airplane

Airplane is a favorite game for the kids. I'm thankfully they only like to play it with Daddy! Actually, they really like to get rough and rowdy with Daddy and Mommy just doesn't cut it for wrestle and tackle time. That doesn't bother me one bit. I know here shortly that Elliott will be getting the raw end of the deal as the kids are getting big quick! :)

Elliott is on the board of directors for KSPE and has meetings once a month over lunch. That happens to be today. The days that he is gone for lunch (which are only a couple a month) make for a longer day for me but it makes lunch easy. Today, Lauren had a PB&J & chips, Andrew had steak fingers & applesauce and I had quesadilla rolls and salsa for lunch. Quite the combo, huh? I seem to have a hard time coming up with lunch every day. It feels like we eat the same thing on a big rotation. I need to commit to trying more new recipes and then remember the ones we actually liked.
Lauren had preschool this morning so Andrew & I ran to Dillons for a few things. That has been the highlight of our day. Woohoo!! Now, Andrew is down for a nap and Lauren is doing her United States puzzle and will be laying down pretty soon as well. She loves to do this puzzle and does it 3 times, no more or less, each day when Andrew lays down. Quirky kid!
